From Damage to Durable: Grand Prairie Roof Restoration
Challenge: What began as a standard roof replacement quickly revealed deeper structural issues. After removing a few shingles and two layers of felt, our team discovered that the existing roof deck was not a nail-able surface. The underlying wood was soft, patchy, and compromised—making it unreliable for securing new roofing materials properly.
Outcome: Rather than cover up the issue or opt for a temporary fix, we rebuilt the deck to ensure long-term durability and safety. The new roof was expertly installed using Owens Corning Oak Ridge shingles in Desert Tan, and finished with ProEdge Ridge Cap Shingles for a clean, secure, and professional result.
Grand Prairie Home Gets a Roof Rebuild Upgrade
Challenge: In Grand Prairie, a residential roof project revealed multiple outdated and deteriorating layers that needed removal. The existing structure included two layers of 2-tab shingles, two layers of felt, and a layer of wood shake—all of which had to be carefully stripped away. The underlying decking was no longer suitable and required a full replacement before any new materials could be installed.
Outcome: Our team removed all compromised layers and installed brand-new decking to create a solid foundation. We then applied synthetic underlayment for added protection, followed by a fresh installation of CertainTeed Landmark shingles in Moiré Black, complemented by Shadow Ridge cap shingles for a seamless finish. To complete the project, we installed new black gutters, ensuring both functionality and curb appeal.
